Although some dispute remains over who’s the boss, there can be no denying the success of Wexford’s Natural Health Store, the family-run business which has recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. Originally all from Bride St, the store is run by siblings Linda Meehan, Patrick Meehan, Christine Meehan, and Clair Whitty and is one of two outlets the family operate in the south-east.

When it came to finding a designer to showcase Fair Seas’ work, a man from Wexford seemed a natural fit. As an organisation which campaigns for strong and ambitious Marine Protected Areas (MPA) legislation to protect, conserve and restore Ireland’s marine environment, Fair Seas is heavily involved in Ireland’s coastal communities, and while Crossabeg isn’t quite by the coast, its owner, Brian Byrne, was tasked with designing a campaign to get the Fair Seas message across.

Staff at Wexford General Hospital (WGH) and primary care centres across the county may be forced to strike at one of the busiest times of the year unless the HSE ends a recruitment freeze on clerical and administrative staff. Over 80 staff gathered outside WGH on Wednesday afternoon (December 6) as part of a nationwide campaign to highlight shortages in personnel in health facilities in the county.

It is those people who Wexford councillor Leonard Kelly hopes will avail of an initiative he is funding in conjunction with local mental health organisation It’s Good 2 Talk (IG2T).
