Wexford's most 'Christmassy' home lights up again as Tony keeps 28-year tradition alive

It wouldn’t be Christmas in Wexford without one of the nation’s most Christmassy homes lighting up in anticipation for the big day. And last Friday, Tony Fitzpatrick did what he’s been doing for most of the last 28 years by turning on the lights at a home which has become synonymous with Christmas in Wexford.

Speed van detections in Rosslare district increase by more than 250 per cent

Speed van detections in the Rosslare Municipal District (RMD) have risen by 266 per cent this year as gardaí increase the number of GoSafe vans on the roads of south Wexford. In the whole of 2022 there were 83 detections, while this year’s figure currently stands at 221. However, despite an increase in fatal road collisions nationally, there have been no road deaths in the RMD to date this year.

A pair of Gorey sisters have donated almost two-and-half feet of hair to the Little Princess Trust to help children who have lost their own hair through illness. Katie (7) and Lucy (4) O’Neill had been growing their hair for many years, with only the odd trim here and there, and had long, flowing blonde locks prior to Saturday afternoon.
