German backpacker Simone Strobel was found dead in Australia in 2005. Her ex-boyfriend Tobias M. was charged with murder and perversion of justice. The circumstances of Strobel's death have not yet been clarified. The Australian authorities also issued arrest warrants for the sister of the dead and another German. However, neither were extradited to Australia to face charges in the case of the German backpacker's death. The case is still under investigation by the New South Wales Police Department.
