Sir Tom Arnold, who has died aged 76, was the son of the impresario of the same name and inherited many of his business interests, yet found time to be Conservative MP for Hazel Grove for 23 years and serve for nine years as a vice-chairman of the party under Margaret Thatcher and John Major.
