Ukrainian refugee children sing for Taiwanese delegation on Slovakia trip

A delegation of Taiwanese legislators in Slovakia visited Ukrainian children who took refuge in the central European country in the wake of Russia’s invasion of their homeland, Taiwan’s representative office in Bratislava said on Friday.
The lawmakers from the Legislative Yuan’s Taiwan-Slovakia Inter-Parliamentary Amity Association visited a Ukrainian child refugee education center, which was set up through donations from Taiwan, the representative office said in a statement.
The Taiwanese lawmakers were touched as they listened to the Ukrainian children sing their national anthem and perform Ukrainian folk songs, the representative office said.

President Tsai, Premier Su greet French delegation

President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) and Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) yesterday greeted a delegation led by French Senator Joel Guerriau, expressing the hope that the countries can continue to foster a positive relationship.
Guerriau in his morning meeting with Tsai lauded Taiwan for contributing to regional stability, despite facing sustained isolation because of China.

Taiwan and Slovakia sign judicial deal

Taiwan and Slovakia yesterday signed an agreement on judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters, the first of its kind signed by Taiwan with an EU country.
The pact was signed during a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ in Taipei by Representative to Slovakia David Lee (李南陽) and his Slovakian counterpart, Martin Podstavek.
The event was witnessed by a visiting Slovakian delegation led by Slovak National Council Deputy Speaker Milan Laurencik, as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) and Minister of Justice Tsai Ching-hsiang (蔡清祥).
