Stickstoffzeiger und Stickstofflieferant Brennnesseln sind eine Zeigerpflanze. Das heißt: Wo sie wachsen, gibt es viel Stickstoff im Boden. Brennnesseln selbst enthalten neben reichlich Stickstoff auch noch Kalium, Phosphor, Mangan und Eisen. Deswegen kann man sie zum Düngen nehmen. Wichtig: Es müssen Pflanzen ohne Samen sein. Sonst sät man Brennnesseln anstatt zu düngen. Man kann auch die ganzen Pflanzen klein schneiden und damit Gemüsebeete mulchen. Oder die Brennnesselteile ganz unten in den Pflanzkübel legen, bevor die Erde und dann Tomaten, Paprika oder andere Pflanzen hineinkomme...
