A nearly $7 million federal grant is helping address Minnesota’s long standing shortage of school counselors. Those doing the work now in northwestern Minnesota say the needs are greater than ever.
“Kids are saying, ‘Hey, help me, I’m anxious. I’m crying in class, I don’t know what to do. I need to talk about this.’ And we don’t have the resources to talk to them.”
The fundraiser will include a silent auction from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a pulled pork dinner provided by Lazy Jack's from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a Corey Medina concert starting at 7 p.m.
