First person to walk to the North and South poles will speak Thursday in Palm Beach

World explorer Robert Swan plans to deliver that environmental message and more Thursday at his presentation at The Society of the Four Arts.
The British native, who at 33 became the first person to walk to the North and South poles, is a strong backer of protecting the polar regions and renewable energy.
“I walked on the North and south poles 30 years ago. Now, there is no ice there to stand on. If nothing is done, you folks in West Palm Beach are going to be swimming soon,” said Swan, who plans a return to the South Pole in November. ....
