In what is being described as a "happy accident," the Hubble Space Telescope has spotted a runaway black hole and its trail of infant stars. What is special about this is that in what could've been a tussle with two other black holes, this supermassive black hole was ejected from its own galaxy. Additionally, its trail of infant stars is an astounding 200,000 light-years long chain. This "contrail" of newborn starts as per Science Daily is twice the diameter of our Milky Way galaxy.

NASA and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), a research arm of the US Department of Defense, have unveiled plans to test nuclear-powered rockets that would one day fly humans to Mars. Announcing the ambitious plans on Tuesday, the space agency said that it will partner with DARPA on the Demonstration Rocket for Agile Cislunar Operations, or DRACO, programme. An international team of scientists has recovered five new “space rocks” from the desert of Antarctica, and one of them is almost 8kg (17 pounds). What’s amazing about this discovery is that finding a meteorite this large is rare. As per EurekAlert of the almost 45,000 meteorites found here, only a hundred or so are of the size of this newly discovered meteorite or larger.
