Louisville voters were largely in favor of renewing the Open Space and Parks Sales tax extension and increase after early results Tuesday. Louisville Ballot Issue 2C was passing with 65.79% voting in favor as of 7:36 p.m. Tuesday. On Jan. 1, 2024, Ballot Issue 2C will increase the open space and parks sales tax to 0.5%, a 0.125% increase from the current 0.375% sales tax. City Manager John Glascock discussed the state of different government departments. John Glascock, the city manager, spoke at the State of the City address on Tuesday morning at City Hall. Glascock said 2021 will be a year of growth. The city has allotted $1.8 million to help residents with utility and housing payments. The money will also help local businesses and provide reimbursements for COVID-19 related costs, including the hospitality industry and concert venues.
