I attended the Northeast Regional Broadband Meeting at Northeast Power in Palmyra on Friday, June 11. Representative Louis Riggs was hosting the meeting and I think of him as the guru of Broadband. His broadband bill (HB1768) in 2020 has moved broadband Internet forward in Missouri and he has recently been appointed by Speaker Vescovo to serve as the chair of the Interim Joint Committee on Broadband Internet. Access to broadband internet is a driver for economic growth and rural community development. ....

Gov. Parson signs bills to support adoptive families and children in foster care


(WSIL) Governor Mike Parson signed HB 429 and HB 430 into law Thursday, which both support Missouri adoptive families and children in foster care. 
“Every child deserves a family to provide love, support, and a strong foundation,” Governor Parson said. “Missourians who take on this role as foster and adoptive parents are invaluable to the children of our state, and I am extremely pleased to sign these bills today.” 
“I want to thank Representative Kelly, Speaker Vescovo, Senator Koenig, and Senator Rehder for their work to support Missouri’s adoptive and foster families, improve the adoption process, and most importantly help foster children reach the permanency they deserve,” Governor Parson continued.  ....
