Memorial planned for 62 Spence Field pilots killed in training during WWII
Eighty years ago, the sights and sounds of Spence Army Airfield included planes flying overhead as thousands of young men learned to fly to serve their country in WWII. Sixty-two air cadets and instructors were killed during the four years the airfield was operational.
