No new county COVID outbreaks reported in Larimer County Colorado

Larimer County reached a milestone of sorts this week with no new COVID-19 outbreaks reported at area businesses or long-term care facilities, the first time since the pandemic began in mid-March 2020.
Part of that may be attributable to the holiday weekend, higher vaccination rates and a June 1 change in the state's definition of an outbreak.
Previously, an outbreak was defined as “two or more people who are confirmed cases of COVID-19 in a workplace/facility, with onset within 14 days, or one confirmed and two or more probable cases of COVID-19 in a workplace/facility, with onset within 14 days,” according to the state’s outbreak page.

Larimer County reports 22 new COVID-19 outbreaks

Larimer County reported 22 new outbreaks this week — down from 25 the last week — and all but one had five or fewer cases. The overall number of active cases dropped as well, to 109.
Outbreaks newly reported this week included five assisted living and nursing facilities, three middle schools, two car dealerships, a domestic violence shelter and one elementary school.
This week’s largest outbreak was at City Park Church, 1725 W. Mulberry St. in Fort Collins. The church reported seven cases — two staff and five attendees — to the county. The outbreak was reported to the state on May 11.
Calls to the church seeking comment were not returned.

COVID-19 K-12 School Outbreaks Explode Colorado April 2021

At this point in the COVID-19 pandemic, with vaccination rates going up and inoculations now available to anyone over fifteen, officials had hoped that case counts would be in serious decline. But no: This week's roundup of data from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment shows infections and hospitalizations continuing to rise — and the number of newly identified outbreaks has skyrocketed.
The 170 new outbreak sites in the state listed on the CDPHE's just-released April 28 survey represents a 13.166 percent increase in just seven days — and the spike is paced by an explosion of outbreaks at schools in which the overwhelming majority of positive tests involve students. The 52 outbreaks at K-12 facilities account for well over a quarter of the new outbreaks.
