Farmers' market loses founding member Back to video Wayne Chalmers, vice-chairman of the market’s board and co-owner and operator of Spring Hill Farms of Trout Creek, died on Jan. 13 at age 61. “As one of the founding members, Wayne has been a respected vendor and board member of the farmers’ market for the past 20 years,” chairman Mitch Deschatelets was quoted in a media release Tuesday. “Wayne was a pillar in the market and a mentor to those farmers and artisans starting out. His wisdom and calm demeanour will be missed.”
