County Sheriff — Deputies checked at a Waterford Road, Unity Township, home at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 hang up call from there. The resident was fine and said he did not call 911. — A deputy and two Minerva police responded to a home on Bayard Road after the residents in one apartment complained loud music was being played in another apartment at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday. No one was found to be home at the apartment where the music was reportedly being played and when they entered the apartment where the person lived who called police, officers could hear nothing. Salem — An officer responded at 5:45 a.m. Friday to investigate a noise complaint in the 1900 block of Maple Street. Nothing was found. — A family member was cleaning a deceased family member’s residence sometime before 10:38 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of West Fourth Street, when she discovered several electronic smoking devices and an a substance, all of which police disposed of. — A caller reported at 12:48 p.m. Friday that while she was in line buying a drink at a gas station in the 2800 block of East State Street, someone reached into her vehicle and sprayed an unknown substance. The incident is still under investigation.
Jan 8, 2021 LISBON — Brandon M. Huff, 26, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, the man charged with three felony counts of vandalism for water damage at the county jail and sheriff’s office, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Judge Katelyn Dickey in County Municipal Court on Thursday afternoon. Huff, who remains incarcerated at the county jail, appeared by video and was bound over to the Common Pleas Court grand jury. On Dec. 25, Huff is accused of damaging a sprinkler system spray head in his jail cell, which caused damage to the conceal carry weapons room, the IT room, two detectives’ rooms and several pods and an office at the jail.
COLUMBIANA COUNTY MUNICIPAL LISBON — A Dec. 21 preliminary hearing was set for Codey A. Mobley, 26, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, charged with burglary, a second-degree felony, and domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. Mobley is additionally scheduled for arraignment today on a second-degree felony charge of escape and two counts of resisting arrest. He is currently being held in the jail on $100,000 cash or surety bond and was ordered to have no contact with Sarah Berdine or to go to Independence Square in Wellsville. Austin A. Angeli, 33, Jefferson Avenue, Salem, was found competent to stand trial and waived his right to a preliminary hearing for a first-degree felony burglary charge and a misdemeanor assault charge. Angeli was previously ordered to have no contact with anyone from a Vine Avenue, Salem, address.
