Students in the nationally recognized Missouri Innovation Campus program recently achieved academic honors while participating in this rigorous, career-focused degree initiative. The one-of-a-kind program is made possible through a partnership including the University of Central Missouri, Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, Metropolitan Community College and more than 70 business partners. The program prepares IT and engineering graduates for a successful career, decreases the cost of a college degree and reduces the time it takes to earn a bachelor’s degree while eliminating the skills gap ...
“It gave me an amazing opportunity to have that hands-on experience,” said a graduate of Missouri Innovation Campus program in Lee’s Summit.
Beginning next year, the Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC) program will launch a highly sought-after bachelor’s degree combining artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and data science. The Bachelor of Science in Data Science will start in summer 2024, said Stan Elliott, MIC program director, and is offered through the MIC program’s partners – the University of Central Missouri, Lee’s Summit R-7 School District and Metropolitan Community College.
Reshaping the typical college internship has long been an important aspect of the University of Central Missouri’s nationally recognized Missouri Innovation Campus program. Strengthening the internship commitment was recommended by the MIC’s business partners when the program began in 2012 and has continued to be a key advantage for both students and companies.
