A multi-count lawsuit was filed today in Coles County by Charles Lee Stodden's attorney, Thomas DeVore. The lawsuit is seeking a declaratory judgment regarding the County Board's hiring of a private contractor to perform commercial assessments and for providing compensation of health insurance to three board members in contradiction to the compensation set by the County Board. Board members Stan Metzger, Darrel Cox, and Rick Shook all are receiving health insurance which was never authorized in the board-approved compensation for County Board members.
