I am standing on top one these dunes, 8 to 10 feet high on the jersey shore. Many towns have down exactly the same thing. This is to protect against beach erosion as many towns prepare for the doubling whammy of rain and high winds. There is already a significant amount of street flooding on the bayside of seaside heights. That was the result of last nights rainstorm. Here homes are still being raised because of the damage when the water was so high and Superstorm Sandy. This time residents are getting prepared.
