227 The Eta Carinae Nebula is one of the largest region of ionized hydrogen gas in our Galaxy. Expanded in a distance of 260 light years it has seven times the size of the Orion Nebula. The photograph only shows a partial view of the complex. The Nebula has produced the Star Eta Carina which is among of the most massive and luminous star in our Milky Way. NGC 3372 present us its generous detail and regions formed of bright and dark interstellar matter. 1 – Get up high The further up you are, the better chance to see the stars. So a trek to higher ground will be more fruitful. 2 – Turn off the lights You can still stargaze from your own home but turning off lights will improve the visibility of the night sky and allow you to pick up more. 3 – Make sure the night is clear A cloudy night won’t be the best for stargazing as there will be a lot of obstruction. Check the weather forecast to plan for a clear night, and also there may be a chance of planning for special celestial events to happen.

Why Is It Called the Quadrantids? Like other showers, it’s named for the constellation located near the radiant (or origin) point for the meteors. In this case, it’s the Quadrans Muralis, a constellation that’s no longer recognized by astronomers and is now known as Bootes (the meteor shower is alternately known as the Bootids).
