Harlan recognized
Eva Harlan, a respite worker with Abilities Plus, recently celebrated 30 years of dedicated service with the agency.
Harlan started at the organization on April 15, 1991, as a developmental therapist with the Early Intervention Program, and became a respite worker in 2006.
During this time she has made such a positive difference in the lives of so many local children and adults with delays and disabilities, said a press release from the organization. All at Abilities Plus would like to recognize and thank Eva for everything she has done the past 30 years for the organization and the individuals we serve. ....

Health Department says online vaccine registration process has improved

Health officials say progress in vaccinating seniors, healthcare workers and essential workers has made it easier for residents to register online for a clinic appointment.
On Monday, the Henry & Stark County Health Departments opened up registration on its website for the county’s latest mass vax clinic shortly after 8 a.m. But rather than being snatched up in a matter of minutes, the vaccine time slots remained open for several hours. But the availability of those appointment times isn’t due to a decrease in demand for the vaccine, said Rae Ann Tucker, director of health promotions for the HSCHD. ....

Health Department to offer phone-in vaccine registration

The Henry and Stark County Health Department and the Henry County Office of Emergency Management announce they will open a “Phone In” Registration for the COVID-19 Vaccination Series.
Those eligible to participate in this Phone-In registration are any Henry and Stark County residents age 65 and over who truly have no internet access. The number of appointments is limited and will be given out on a first come, first served basis. To register please call the Health Department at (309) 852-7242 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Henry and Stark County Health Departments Emergency Services Division and the American Public Health Association are encouraging the public to remember to make sure that their emergency preparedness stockpiles are up to date when they change their clocks next week.
This is all a part of the APHA s Get Ready: Set Your Clocks, Check Your Stocks campaign. RaeAnn Tucker, Health Department Director of Health Promotion, states The effort is designed to remind Americans to make sure their emergency preparedness stockpiles have adequate food, water and supplies and ensure that nothing is missing or has expired. The biannual campaign is also designed to encourage Americans who don t have an emergency stockpile to create one. ....
