The Environmental Protection Agency has reached a tentative settlement in a lawsuit over the agency's failure to make Pennsylvania abide by the same clean water requirements as other states in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The 2020 lawsuit demanded the agency enforce the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint, a multistate compact which sets limits on the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and sediment flowing into the bay from watershed states. WildEarth Guardians said the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District has been issued water permits and extensions for 90 years, without having to adequately prove what's called "beneficial use." A funding hub has launched in Indiana, designed to help small communities pursue federal funding for climate, energy and resilience projects. The mission of the Indiana Resilience Funding Hub is to assist communities with fewer than 50,000 residents access federal dollars for their projects.
