Gone is the stripper pole, goodbye to the flashing lights. It’s now an unadorned enclave that smells like smoke, whiskey and the crackling of pork skin, which, when mixed together, forms a carnivore’s aphrodisiac. Tables are like islands, not unlike the one massive painting on the wall by local artist Mark Freedman that features a lone baby blue skiff drifting through the Texas bayou. RNLI rescue man this morning caught in a high tide while walking in the Renmore area of Galway Published: Saturday, 12 December 2020 15:52 A man was rescued by Galway RNLI Lifeboat today after he got caught in the rising tide while out walking at Ballyloughan Beach, Renmore, on the eastern side of Galway city. The man took refuge on Hare Island after getting cut off from the shore at about 11am. A member of the public noticed that he was in difficulty and contacted the Coast Guard for help. Galway Lifeboat launched within minutes and on reaching the island took the man safely on board, bringing him back to Galway Docks. He did not require medical attention.
