Maribyrnong came in at No. 4 and Hobsons Bay at No. 7 out of 22 metropolitan councils, according to Victorian councils’ budget documents for 2020-21. Spend county money compassionately To the Editor: Our Haywood county government is planning to build a new jail at a cost of over $14 million. Important questions have been raised about this project. One of the most important  is “What can we do to prevent another new jail being needed in ten years?”  Given the increasing cost of land and construction, this will probably cost the taxpayers of Haywood county more than the current price of $14 million.
