more »istic disco where the survivors of nuclear war have settled for alienation anthems that recall the space-age bachelor pad music of the distant innocent past. But this is all conjecture. No one knows what the music of the future will sound like. (Heck, we once thought by the year 2000 we d all be walking around in Lost in Space outfits.) Stereolab, however, are certainly what we think of. Microbe Hunters is both compact and expansive: only seven cuts but taken over 40 minutes. Daft Punk, one of the most influential and popular groups to emerge in the past 30 years, have announced their retirement via a video titled “Epilogue” posted Monday morning. The duo’s longtime publicist, Kathryn Frazier, officially confirmed the split to
Variety and declined to provide further details.
The eight-minute clip features the duo Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo  who for many years have concealed their features behind a robot concept, walking around the desert, wearing in their familiar space helmets and leather jackets. After a few moments, one of the members looks at the other, removes his jacket and reveals an energy pack on the back. The other touches a button on the pack. The first member walks away quickly, and then explodes. ....

Switched On compilation. Over the next six years, the eclectic avant-pop band would put out two more highly-regarded and beloved additions to their
Switched On series, proving that they were utterly incapable of putting out bad music during the 90s.
Electrically Possessed [Switched On Volume 4], picks up from where 1998 s
Aluminum Tunes [Switched On Volume 3] left off. Covering Stereolab s least-celebrated era, the 25-track, 104-minute compilation spans the years between 1999 s
Chemical Chords. The first 40 minutes dedicated to ....
