Runners raise over £3,000 for 5in5 challenge 11th May 2021 Over £3,000 was raised for the 5in5 challenge when approximately 50 runners ran in excess of 1,000km over a 24 hour period last weekend. The event was organised by members of the local running club Carpe Diem and started at 5pm on Friday evening until 5pm on Saturday. While some runners came and did their part, a minimum of 30minutes running, others took it to what could only be described as the extreme. Joann M. Gilbert, 85, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Russellville, passed away on April 14, 2021, at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in Houston of natural causes. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service with Rev. Steven Walker Sr. officiating. Masks will be required as well as social distancing and no hugging or shaking hands.
