India News: The Supreme Court is set to hear the petition filed by Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena challenging the order of Maharashtra Speaker Rahul Narwekar on the dismissal of disqualification pleas against chief minister Eknath Shinde faction MLAs on March 7.
The first day of proceedings at the Maharashtra Speaker s office to decide on disqualification petitions of rival factions of the Shiv Sena began on a contentious note. The Uddhav Thackeray faction accused the Speaker of supporting the Shinde faction s delaying tactics. The Thackeray camp alleged that the Shinde group was trying to delay the process until the elections. The Thackeray group asked for the hearing to be completed within a week and is prepared to petition the Supreme Court if there is any further delay.
