some cloud, maybe some showers, into the south—east corner. i'm hopeful we will see a bit more sunshine further north and west. so northern ireland, scotland, likely to have the sunniest of the weather and the warmest of the weather too, perhaps up to 15 or 16 degrees. temperatures further south recovering just a little bit — up to 11, 12 or 13. by wednesday we may well see some good spells of sunshine. some areas of patchy cloud as well. it does look largely dry and those temperatures, for most of us, in a range between nine and 1a degrees. as we look towards the end of next week, and into the following weekend, it looks like our area of high pressure will tend to retreat westwards. that will allow low pressure to take over. but exactly how that transitions to low pressure is still open to a degree of uncertainty. however, with low pressure close by it is likely we will see showers or longer spells of rain returning. so the increasing chance of wet weather through the end of next week and on into the weekend. with that low just to the south

the midlands at times. once again, it's the south—east that will be driest, sunniest and warmest. now, if you were watching yesterday, we were talking about how — well, we were hopeful, actually — that warm air across the near continent would start to work its way in. it looks as though now it mightjust stay there. we'll see a little bit of it across parts of the south—east of england but this high pressure tending to push it away and that means the low pressure still with us in the north, so cloudy and damp here. drier with some sunshine further south but perhaps not quite the temperatures reaching the high 20s that we had thought. still, 25—26 celsius is above average — not bad at all. further north, cooler and fresher with the cloud and the rain and the wind. and then, for the end of the week, well, low pressure begins to take over, more of a northerly drift, and certainly turning more unsettled through parts of central and southern england after what will be a pretty settled start to the week. and you can see on the outlook, after that dry and sunny start in the south—east, turning more unsettled. temperatures around about average, really, for the time of year.
