Join Archdale Parks and Recreation on August 7 at 10 a.m. for the grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting for the recently completed Mose Drive area of Creekside Park. This new section of the park features a new basketball court, sand volleyball courts, shelter, restrooms, and Barkdale Dog Park. Date Time River Street Duplication – Partial Closure of Sunset Avenue in Phases 4 and 5 As part of the River Street Duplication works, the intersection of Sunset Avenue and River Street will be partially closed during Phase 4 and 5 of the project. Asheboro's second Downtown Streatery of the year was on May 8, after a few business owners expressed their concerns. The second time proved to be a charm for some local business owners, who felt their worries were considered to create a successful event for both parties.  Initially, two business owners stood in front of the Asheboro City Council to discuss decreased revenue on March 20, the first streatery of the year. According to a news release, NYSEG has begun work on the upgrade project to their electric distribution system, that will benefit over 7,000 customers in total.
