In July 2023, Bengaluru Urban recorded 84 mm of rainfall, surpassing the usual 76 mm. This translated to a 6% excess rainfall for the district. However, when looking at the cumulative rainfall from August 1 to 17, Bengaluru Urban should have received 44.8 mm of rainfall, but it only received a mere 13 mm. This stark difference results in an astonishing 71% shortfall in rainfall.
