Almost 3,200 teachers reported for work in-person on Tuesday as Paterson education officials took their first major step toward normalcy.

PATERSON — The first wave of 675 school district employees will be getting COVID-19 vaccines next week as city education officials remain undecided whether to resume in-person classes this academic year. The district last week sent emails to all 3,909 employees letting them know about the availability of the voluntary vaccines for educators, said Superintendent Eileen Shafer.
