BERNARD PLATT SAINTS Community Development Foundation have taken over The Shining Lights Centre in Sutton Manor. The Shining Lights Centre has been a vital part of the Sutton community since its opening on the March 14 2005 hosting a wide range of clubs and activities for the community. Steve Leonard, Saints Community Development Foundations Director said: “After a long Covid delayed process, Saints Foundation can finally announce a partnership with Sutton Manor Primary school which sees us taking over the Shining Lights Centre in Sutton Manor. The schools Headteacher Monica Gladman has made no secret of the fact that they school and its governors lead by Mr Ernie Benbow wanted the centre back open with community-based activities. I am glad to say that we are in a position, after discussions with most of the previous user groups to have them back on board and starting back very shortly if not already. ....
Plans have been submitted for the former pub Pic: Google Streetview PLANS have been submitted to the council to transform the former Smithy Manor pub into offices, a function suite and changing rooms for five-a-side football teams. A planning application to turn the site into housing was rejected in 2016 due to its location on greenbelt land. But new plans could see the site transformed into a new office space and five-a-side football pitches. The submitted plans include converting the ground floor of the pub building into six offices, complete with a canteen and food prep area. The ground floor also includes ladies and gents changing facilities for five-a-side football, with an exit leading out on to the playing area. ....
