Albany church hosts pop-up vaccine site

ALBANY - Denise Landy was one of many who went to the Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Albany to get the coveted COVID vaccine.

"Someone from our church called us and asked was anyone interested, and we signed up to come down today, yes," she said.
The church hosted a pop-up vaccination site for eligible people, by appointment through the church.
The COVID vaccine is a hot commodity these days.
"I was calling different sites, couldn't get through. Just kept calling and calling, very frustrated. But God is good," said Landy.
"This is great," said Barbara Croskery, church usher president. "It kind of validates the vaccine, a lot of people are skeptical so it kind of validates it, it's in a church."
