Westreme Battery – a unique coastal fort at Mellieħa
Mellieħa Bay is one of the most popular beaches in the Maltese archipelago. Its natural beauty and shimmering sea make it very attractive to tourists and locals alike. Furthermore, the surrounding hotels, various restaurants and shops make this area very welcoming. However, in the past this beach posed a great threat to the Maltese islands as it attracted different types of visitors: corsairs, pirates and Ottoman troops.
