Capital City wrestling misses out on state medalists
The Capital City Cavaliers came up just short of a state medal in multiple weights. AJ Kemkper was the first Cavalier to win a match in the Class 3 state tournament Thursday. He went 1-2 on Day 2, coming one win away from a state medal at Mizzou Arena.

Cavaliers move on to Day 2 of state wrestling
Four Cavaliers locked in their spot in today’s action at the Class 3 State wrestling tournament at Mizzou Arena. After Day 1, Capital City is tied for 24th with seven team points. A.J. Kempker was the first Capital City grappler to earn his spot in Day 2, when he used a reversal, two takedowns and a stalling point to build a 7-3 decision over Warrenton’s Noah Lohrman at 120 pounds.
