Summer Concert Series - The Tawas Community Concert Band, under the direction of Tina Donze, will hold their weekly Summer Concert Series on Monday, July 17th at 7:00pm in the East Tawas City Park. Popcorn for sale with proceeds to Fish, Inc. The concerts run every Monday throughout the summer and are free with donations accepted for scholarships and new music.

 

Vacation Bible School (Oscoda) - The Oscoda United Methodist Church will hole Vacation Bible School at the church at 120 WEst Dwight Street in Oscoda Monday, July 17th through Thursday, July 20th from 10:00am to 1:00pm each day. Free and open to all children grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Lunch served daily. For more information call 989-739-8591.

 

Vacation Bible School (AuGres) - St. John Lutheran Church will hold Vacation Bible School at the church, 206 North Court Street, AuGres, Monday, July 17th through Friday, July 21st from 6:00-8:00pm each day. Outside the Lighthouse - The Friends of the Tawas Point Lighthouse and State park will host free “Outside The Lighthouse” Tuesday, July 18th from Noon-4pm. They will provide information about the ongoing restoration project, Virtual Tower Tour, kid’s activities and more. This program runs every Tuesday through August 29th. A Recreation Passport is required to enter the park.

 

Macro Invertebrates - The USDA Forest Services presents this program on July 18th at 1:00pm. Come join us for fun with magi scopes. View an underwater world that often gets overlooked and learn a little bit about macro invertebrates. All Programs are at Lumberman's Monument and are free of charge. Donations are accepted in the Visitor Center to help cover expenses. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Programs are subject to change. Women's Walking Program - Ascension St. Joseph Hospital Women's Clinic is hosting a walking program on Tuesday (July 18th, July 25th, August 1st, August 8th, August 15th) at 5:00pm. There will be 30 minute walks at East Tawas State Harbor and 45 minute walks at Shoreline Park in Tawas City. The walks hellp educate women about the benefits of walking.
