Founder of Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies (HWT.UL) Ren Zhengfei has called on the companyâs staff to âdare to lead the worldâ in software as the company seeks growth beyond the hardware operations that U.S. sanctions have crippled.
The internal memo seen by Reuters is the clearest evidence yet of the company s direction as it responds to the immense pressure sanctions have placed on the handset business that was at its core.

Broad-based losses pulled Qatari shares lower on Monday, with all stocks on the index except one in negative territory, while the Abu Dhabi index was buoyed by its top lender.
The Qatari benchmark (.QSI) retreated 1.3%, falling for a fourth consecutive session. Petrochemical maker Industries Qatar (IQCD.QA) slid 3.8%, the biggest decline on the index.
Qatar is still facing lockdowns and slower vaccination rates than other countries in the region. Moreover, industrials are finding high raw material prices and supply disruptions adding pressure to their business models, said Daniel Takieddine, head of sales at FXPRIMUS. ....

The government of Canada will open the 6GHz band of radio frequency spectrum, tripling the current amount available for Wi-Fi and leading to faster speeds and greater coverage, the country s minister for science and innovation announced on Wednesday.
High-quality and affordable wireless services have never been more important in the everyday lives of Canadians, Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said. This decision will make staying connected easier for Canadians who rely on their Wi-Fi for accessing school, work and health care from home.
