Team Devoe AAU team takes next steps towards first season
"This is dope." Lee, a member of the Team DeVoe Basketball Academy's 4th-grade team, was among the first to don the new basketball club's black and gold uniforms. The uniforms, which can flip between a black base with gold trim or an all-gold design, represent the next step in what has been a long process of getting an Amateur Athletic Union team off the ground in Shelby. "They make this feel real to them," said Danny Sander Jr., coach of the 4th-grade AAU team. "To me this has been real since we had that first meeting in the fall, but for them I think this makes it real."
