The US Justice Department accuses Google of paying billions of dollars annually to device makers like Apple Inc , wireless companies like AT&T and browser makers like Mozilla to keep Google's search engine on top.
Apple had long argued that its cable was more secure than USB-C chargers, which are already deployed by Apple on other devices and widely used by rivals including the world's biggest smartphone maker Samsung.
The survey report said that of businesses that have already deployed genAI, 34% planned to increase usage over the next 12 months.
Now the iPhone 15 is expected to have a USB-C charger, instead of Apple's usual Lightning charger, after the EU ordered manufacturers to adopt a common connection.
The companies include Adobe, IBM, Palantir, Nvidia and Salesforce. They joined Amazon, Anthropic, Google, Inflection AI, Microsoft and OpenAI, which initiated an industry-led effort on safeguards in an announcement with the White House in July.
