The U.S. government has rejected former Twitter owner Elon Musk's request to end oversight of the company's data privacy and security practices. The government argues that Musk should testify about the company's conduct since he has "first-hand knowledge" of the issues being investigated. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has been monitoring Twitter since a 2011 consent order, and its concerns escalated after Musk took over.

Indian ed-tech company Byju's has been accused of hiding $533 million in a hedge fund founded by William C. Morton, who allegedly had no formal training in investing. The fund, Camshaft Capital Fund, listed its principal business address as an IHOP pancake restaurant in Miami, according to court papers.

UPI crossed the 10 billion transactions milestone for the first time in August, from 9.9 billion transactions in July, according to data released by the NPCI. The total value of transactions in August stood at Rs 15.7 lakh crore.

India's government is aiming to make microprocessor chips fully in the country, in a bid to propel India into the top tier of advanced technology manufacturing. The government is offering subsidies of up to 70% of a company's outlay, totaling about $10 billion, to attract private companies to set up chip manufacturing facilities in India. Currently, most cutting-edge logic chips are made in Taiwan, but concerns over China and the increasing importance of chips in technology have prompted India to pursue chip manufacturing.
