PESHAWAR: Governor Shah Farman on Monday chaired a meeting on the establishment of a Gemstone Laboratory and Technical Training Centre in the province for introducing precious gemstones at the international level besides development of the relevant industry. The meeting was attended by secretary Minerals Department Nazar Hussain Shah, Secretary Industries Javed Marwat, Director Gems and Gemological Institute Naveed Saud, Group Managing Director IBL Syed Nadeem Ahmed and others.
The meeting discussed the selection of land for setting up of Gemstone Laboratory as per international standards, installation of modern machinery for cutting and polishing of gemstone and training of people associated with this sector. It was decided in the meeting that 32 kanals of land already available with the Minerals Department would be utilised for the laboratory after getting formal approval from the KP ....

Islamabad : A meeting was held between Chairman, National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Syed Javed Hassan and Ambassador of Peoples Republic of China to Pakistan, Nong Rong. NAVTTC chairman appreciated the support of China in revamping the technical and vocational training programmes and put forth different proposals to further enhance the cooperation in TVET sector.

Cement Kiln to Lime Kiln
I want to know if some factor of conversion exists for a cement kiln of two stages converted to oven of lime (without use of the tower). For example, if the cement kiln production is 1000 Tn/day, which would be the lime kiln production?

As a quick guess, I would be inclined to say that the calcination rate would be the same, that is the same quantity of CaCO3 should be calcined. However there are reasons for some difference too.
- Removing the tower would imply that the preheating should occur in the rotary kiln. ....
