MediaTek is looking forward towards taking on its rival Apple and Qualcomm after its line-up of flagship mobile processors focussing on high performance and generative AI capabilities. "Our revenues increased from $7.9 billion to $14 billion in calendar 2023 globally. A big milestone this year is that we've been able to generate $1 billion in revenue from our flagship chipsets globally," MediaTek India managing director Anku Jain told ET.

Currently, satcom through mobile devices is primarily used for coverage in emergency situations and is limited to messages. But in a couple of years, people will be able to get calls and broadband, too. Leading chipmakers Qualcomm and MediaTek said they have already developed chipsets supporting satellite connectivity.
