Maury County accepts additional relief funding for COVID-19

Maury County government will receive more than $30,000 in public assistance funding to relieve financial burdens caused by COVID-19.
Commissioners unanimously accepted the funding resolution during the board’s monthly meeting on Tuesday.
The county will receive an additional  $30,274 from a state and federal grant to provide local relief during the pandemic.
The funds provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and will support “small projects” within the local government.
Maury County Commission Chair Don Morrow said the additional funds can be used by the county as it sees fit. ....

Habitat Celebrates The Dedication Of The Blair s Home

Habitat For Humanity announces on Dec. 3, the Blair family s miracle home was dedicated and they will now have a new home for the holidays.
Habitat sponsors, staff, volunteers and family members attended at 2 p.m. to help celebrate their home, and the ceremony was also live on Habitat of Cleveland s Facebook.
The building of the Blair home was moved back to 2021, due to challenges getting subcontractors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, miraculously, through the Tennessee Cares Act, a grant was secured as an answer to many prayers, officials said. This grant provided for Frank Thaggard, owner of Pyramid Construction, to have his crew manage the construction for their home to be built from the ground up, in only six weeks. ....
