Can you tell us how Teezo Touchdown came to be?
Teezo: By way of Southeast Texas. He’s what you would call a trial and error artist. My origin story came so in the moment that I didn’t really get to track it. But my timeline was really this: artist turn video director, turn artist.
When did you first start making music?
Teezo: Oh, music has been a part of my life since as long as I can remember. I think my first memory is music, so it’s always been there. In 2016 I decided to take it by the horns and really take this thing for what it is and just engulf myself in it. I was in school at the time because I thought it was what I was supposed to be doing, kind of something to tell my family on Thanksgiving when they ask what I’m up to, you know. But when they ask now I’m like: ‘I’m a full-time artist’. ....

form?
Niamh O’Connor: Back in March, Just as things were beginning to get scary and seemingly out of control with the virus, I moved back to my family home in Dublin, having lived in London for almost six years. I had been working as a club booker, writer, DJ and ‘events person’ (everything from artist liaison, to door/guestlist to managing an event itself) and after a few days at home, I began to wonder about the friends, colleagues and personal connections I made over the last three years working in music. Would I see these people again? I wasn’t sure at all but I thought it would be a fun way to stay in touch by asking them to share a resonating, music-related photo and to have a chat about how they were dealing with the knock-on effects of COVID that were beginning to unfold at the time. ....

Industry?
Nathan Micay: A lot of my albums for LuckyMe have been pretty cinematic, and they would constantly ask me if I was into scoring. We have a few contacts, so we reached out to some people. I got a call in February this year, I think, saying can you come to London to meet with HBO about a show called
Industry? I got on a plane like two days later. I met with the writers, the producers and the music supervisor, and we had a lot of the same influences and ideas. Apparently they’d been using my album ....
