“To be the first distiller to produce whiskey in Belfast, legally, in 90 years is a historic moment. And I hope it’s something my children are proud of, or my grandchildren,” says Damien Rafferty, Head Distiller at Titanic Distillers. Back in July this whiskey maker, located at the historic Thompson Dock, were granted a licence by HMRC to produce spirit in the city for the first time in nine decades. It was the culmination of a process that saw the transformation of the iconic listed building that houses the stills.
