A woman falsely accused of masterminding an illegal puppy farming operation across Lancashire has had her name cleared after "12 months of hell".
Jason Hadden, 39, of Terance Road, Blackpool, and Alexander Mereweather, 27, of Three Nooks, Bamber Bridge, are both accused of aiding and abetting her to sell pets without a licence and unfair trading by doing so. Six people, including one from East Lancashire, have been summonsed to appear before magistrates for their involvement in a puppy selling operation. The proceedings were brought by Animal Protection Services, a registered charity that investigates and prosecutes organised animal cruelty following investigations into organised crime groups that sell puppies.
