Put investors in a buying mood and lifted the major indexes for the first time in the fourt first, oil prices settled oh so close to 50 a barrel. Then there was a spade of solid economic repor that reversed fears that the economy hit a wall in august. More on both of those stories in a moment. First here are the closing numbers.
