More than 2,500 unique books were banned or challenged in the U.S. last year according to the American Library Association. 40% of the banned titles had protagonists or prominent secondary characters of color.While public schools and libraries sort through these challenges, one local public library is ensuring there is space on its shelves for Native American authors.
