A warehouse to sell rural and agricultural supplies employing up to 10 staff members has been proposed for Gracemere.
The development application was lodged for 46 Macquarie Street, Gracemere, for Australian Independent Rural Retailers.
The company is Australian owned and operated by independent retailers with more 250 retailers across Australia.
It sells a range of animal health, crop and pasture protection, livestock, fencing, farm management, water, pet, equine and poultry products as the one-stop shop for farmers, growers, producers and pet owners.
The subject site is on a corner block with a total area of 13570 sqm and currently contains a few demountable buildings. ....

125 jobs: Alliance reveals plans for $70m Rocky hangar

Approvals are underway for a $70 million maintenance hangar to be built at Rockhampton Airport by Alliance Airlines, creating 225 jobs.
Maintenance work on Alliance s aircraft is currently carried out in Europe and Singapore but now, the company intends to bring those services back to Australia and has chosen Rockhampton as the perfect location.
Alliance expects to employ 125 staff for the new maintenance and repair hangar, which is also expected to generate a further 100 additional jobs in the region while injecting $30 million into the local economy.
The build will be undertaken by Ahrens and is expected to take nine months and support a further 100 construction jobs. ....

SURF LAKES ACCESS: Potential roundabout plans for Yeppoon Rd

Concerns have been raised about a potential roundabout on Yeppoon Road which would be installed for access into Surf Lakes.
The development plans include a boutique hotel, playgrounds, solar farm, tourist park, cafes, inflatable water park and solar farm.
The development would be conducted over two stages and would be expected to be fully completed by 2031.
The development would attract strong interest from locals and tourists, creating more traffic to the site.
It is anticipated the facility would employ 60 staff, to be open daily from 6am to 9pm.
An economic report conducted by Innovociti on the development estimated the daily visitation to the facility once fully completed would be 1500 to 1700 people. ....

Council approval concerns raised over Doblo's Farmers Market

Development application documents indicate the popular Doblo s Farmers Markets has been operating without the appropriate council planning approval due to confusion surrounding historic zoning and previous approvals.
The documents revealed while the on-site plant nursery was approved, along with structures including the office, storage shed and amenities, other structures such as cold rooms and the use of the site as a shop were not.
It was discovered by Rockhampton Regional Council officers early last year the business was only approved for a plant nursery.
Reel Planning CQ on behalf of company Hudco Pty Ltd, owned by Dominic Doblo, has applied for the material change of use for a shop, being the farmers market. ....

A new purpose-built premises for a dance studio and hardware store has been proposed for a vacant North Rockhampton block.
Plans were recently submitted by Rufus Design Group for 10 Chappell St, Kawana.
The client, ASM Builders, plans to construct a double storey building which would be leased by Central Queensland Engineering Hardware and dance school Epic Studios Australia.
It is proposed the hardware store would take up three quarters of the ground floor and the remainder of the ground floor and entire upper floor would be occupied by the dance school.
