'Thankful and happy': Seniors receive COVID-19 vaccine at mobile clinic
For sisters Priscilla Penera, 71, and Odelia Haggard, 74, receiving a COVID-19 vaccine is the first step toward getting back to the life that they loved before the pandemic hit last year. Attending church services in person together was at the top of their list of things they missed most while staying at home as the virus disproportionately decimated people in their age group. "Not very good," Haggard said of having to watch virtual Masses for much of the last year. "You could see other people that could go to receive the sacrament, but it just feels good just to be there and get it."
