Rowing memorabilia collector leaves museum trustees ); ); Thomas Weil, who is an American collector of rowing memorabilia, has served since 2001. He has made two major donations of objects to the museum, once in 2003 and again in 2013. Mr Weil, who lives in Connecticut, said: “I have tried to build a collection that celebrated the legacy of this transformative sport and it is a great privilege to have found a home for so many of those treasures at the museum.” The Thomas E Weil Collection comprises rowing art, memorabilia and literature, largely relating to Great Britain but including various international pieces. About 1,500 items the collection are at the museum with around 50 star items currently on display in the International Rowing Gallery. ....

My soul had been yearning to face the reality of my People’s/Little Torah’s history. The experience was profoundly meaningful… Brno Brno town square. Beautiful but considered dangerous, where Jews were rounded up and taken away. Continuing to build the team: #13 Little Torah. The Journey…Brno-Prague-Michle-London-Chicago. I flew to Prague (with family) during Passover, (holiday of redemption) then drove three hours to Brno, Little Torah’s birthplace. Walking through the streets of Brno felt eerily familiar, the town square and building facades were similar in style to the book/film illustrations by Martin Lemelman. That made me smile… ....
